FIX: replace BattlEye (primary method)

    Download BattlEye.rar from this page.

    Open game root via Steam → Manage → Browse local files.
  3. 3
    Extract and replace entire DayZ\BattlEye\ folder.
  4. 4
    Launch game, accept all UAC/EULA prompts. Reboot if needed.
RETRO DAYZ tip

Run Install_BattlEye.bat as admin once after replace.

Step 1 — verify Steam files

  1. DayZ on Steam → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files.
  2. In the DayZ folder: BattlEye\Install_BattlEye.bat → run as administrator.
  3. Reboot the PC after the first BattlEye installation or folder replacement.
  4. Install VC++ All-in-One if BE still fails.

Step 2 — DayZ Launcher and BattlEye EULA

  1. DayZ Launcher → BattlEye tab → scroll EULA → Confirm.
  2. DayZ_BE.exe and DayZ_x64.exe → Properties → Compatibility → Run as administrator if the game requests elevation.
  3. Disable Discord/Steam/NVIDIA/Xbox overlays.

Step 3 — BEService (if kicked immediately after joining)

  1. Win+R → services.msc → service BattlEye Service → Stop.
  2. Copy BEService.exe from Unturned/Reforger to Common Files\BattlEye.
  3. Run Install_BattlEye.bat in the DayZ folder as administrator.
  4. Remove rogue dxgi.dll from DayZ folder.
  • Razer Cortex — disable Boost
  • MSI Afterburner / RTSS — disable the overlay or close the application
  • Faceit / Vanguard / other anti-cheats — uninstall or disable their services

Known BattlEye errors

BattlEye Initialization Failed

Symptoms: Game closes on start.

  1. Replace BattlEye folder + verify.
  2. VC++ + reboot.
  3. Run as admin.
  4. Whitelist BEService in Defender.
BattlEye: Corrupted memory / #0 / #1

Symptoms: Kick after join.

  1. Remove foreign DLLs.
  2. Disable overlays.
  3. Verify + replace BE.
BattlEye: Query timeout / Disconnected

Symptoms: Timeout on connect.

  1. Router reboot, try without VPN.
  2. Firewall rules.
  3. Try Google/Cloudflare DNS.
DayZ requires administrator rights / will not start without UAC

Symptoms: Admin rights loop.

  1. Replace BattlEye pack.
  2. Install_BattlEye.bat as admin.
  3. Avoid restrictive paths.
Kicked by BattlEye (no message) / Admin Kick

Symptoms: Instant server kick.

  1. Server ban — contact admins.
  2. Global: verify, BE fix, remove cheat tools.
  3. BattlEye Support — for global bans.
